Having lived a couple of years with the 458 Italia which fascinated us so completely, we hardly believed its successor could be even better. If anything, it could be different at best. We were right: that’s exactly what we get. In pursuit of competition inexorably pushing the performance edge, Ferrari quit the dogma of atmospheric engine and reached for a backed by turbochargers. The producer did it the right way, providing very fluid torque flow depending on the gear selected. Then, it added some totally uncompromising solutions, directly borrowed from the LaFerrari. The effect? You better experience it yourself. What we can say as a teaser is that driven by the world’s most competent drivers, 488 GTB achieves lap times at the level of McLaren P1 and Porsche 918. This is enough to quiet down even the most ardent critics of the “baby Ferrari”. Dear Members, you are invited to try and check it – just pop down when it suits you.
